Carla Ockerman Hunter, M.A., MCC, NCCC President of Career Span, Inc.

carla mugCarla is a Master Career Counselor and a Nationally Certified Career Counselor with extensive career development expertise. She has worked with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from high school students preparing for college to working adults making career changes including job loss, relocation and transitioning into retirement.

Carla has developed extensive team-building curriculum and facilitation sessions for corporate and organizational clients including strategic planning, conflict resolution and becoming a highly effective performer. She has written multiple career articles for Kentucky.com and the America Online Career Center. She has contributed to various career workbooks, most recently the 1st edition of Kentucky’s Office of Employment and Training’s You’re Hired! An Action Plan for Success in Today’s Labor Market. Carla has also assisted companies and organizations with recruiting top talent, succession planning and leadership development.

Carla is qualified to interpret vocational assessments such as the Strong Interest Inventory (SII), the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Thomas Kilman Instrument (TKI), the FIRO-B and IDEAS. Carla is the author, developer and implementer of two recent career development assessments: The Portfolio of Assets: A Skill Set Inventory (2003) and Preferred Workplace Inventory (2008).

Since 2005, Carla has been an approved instructor for the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Training offered by the National Career Development Association. In 2008, she co-authored Intersection: Where Career Development Theories, Models and Resources Meet, a nationally approved GCDF curriculum. In addition she is the developer and owner of the resume template website: www.resumetemplatetoolkit.com

Mrs. Hunter has conducted extensive interviewing of human resources professionals in developing resume formats, successful interviewing strategies and determining future workforce trends.

In 2008, Career Span, Inc was selected by the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program (EKCEP) to direct the Workforce Opportunity Project, an employer survey of 100 companies in their service region to determine employability and sustainability skills for the future workforce.

Caroline Francis, Ed.S., MCC, NCCC


caroline mugCaroline is a certified career counselor with a wide range of expertise. Before joining Career Span, Caroline was the Executive Director of the New Opportunity School for Women in Berea, Kentucky. She has worked extensively with college students and adults in transition. Caroline's resume also includes being a former Assistant Director of U.K.'s Career Center and work in the industrial assessment and hiring field. Caroline is certified by NCDA and CCE as a Global Career Development Facilitator Instructor. She and husband Arthur have two children.

Carol Cooper M.A., NCCC

carol mugA Nationally Certified Career Counselor, Carol has extensive experience as a counselor and also as a high school educator. She has worked in private practice and also for a college counseling center. Carol is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory. She and her husband Bob have two daughters and three grandchildren. She is currently thoroughly enjoying being a grandmother!
